Peermedu Hill Station is the famous plantation town derived its name from Peer Mohammed and its 35kms from Thekkady. A sufi saint and close associate of the erstwhile Royal Family of Travancore. Wide viatas of Tea , cardamom, rubber & Coffee plantations interspersed with silver cascade, sculptural rocks, meadows and mist - cloaked hilltops make peermedu an excellent tourist place among the world. How to Reach Peermedu

Peermedu is 85 kms east to Kottayam (travel time: 2 hours), on the way to Thekkady. There are frequent bus services from nearby cities of Kumily and Kottayam.

By Air: The nearest airport from Wayanad is Calicut/ Kozhikode.

By Rail: The Wayanad district is well connected by a railway network to other cities and towns of Kerala and neighboring states.

By Road: Wayanad is connected by road to other towns in Kerala and other parts of India.
