Peermedu Hill Station is the famous plantation town derived its name from Peer Mohammed and its 35kms from Thekkady. A sufi saint and close associate of the erstwhile Royal Family of Travancore. Peermedu is 85 kms east to Kottayam (travel time: 2 hours), on the way to Thekkady. There are frequent bus services from nearby cities of Kumily and Kottayam.
