Shri Meenakshi Temple, Madurai - Tamil NaduTamil Nadu, the enchanting land is bounded by Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in the north and Kerala to the west. Its coastal region is lapped by the waters of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean from the east and the southern side. The capital of the state of Tamil Nadu, it is among the four metropolitan cities of India. Placed on the coastline of the country the exotic city famous for the temples, coconut trees and the silk sarees welcomes each and every visitors to experience its unique beauty by the Bay of Bengal.

» Madurai
The city is also endowed with the title of the Athens of the East due to the bloody battles that took place on its soil and the war myths that hound the city. Its ancient name was Madhupuram as it was believed that honey or madhu dripped from the long locks of Lord Shiva. In the present days it has become a prime destination for the Hindu pilgrimage destination with the ever imposing temples with grand architecture. The Meenaakshi temple exemplifies the Nayaka Temple structure.

» Ooty
Ooty, the queen of the southern hill station is poplular as Ootacamund or Udhamgamamdalam.The unique landscape was discovered by the British collector in pre independence India and later developed as a summer resort for the South Indian peoples. Enclosed in the lap of nature engulfed by four hills by the name of Doddabetta, Snowdon resort, Elk hill and club hill it forms a part of the Nilgiri range. Ooty lies at the confluence of the western and the eastern ghats, the colonial rulers or the British gave the name Ooty to the place.

One of the attractive hill station in India, Kodaikana lies amidst the natural beauty of the southern crest of the upper palani hills near near the city of Madurai. Kodaikanal preserves a unique flowering plant Kurunji or kunjarani only found there and is nature’s gift to that place. The flower is seen blooming once in every 12 years.

» Kanchipuram
Kachipuram remained the capital of different successive dynasties starting from the Pallavas to the Cholas and the Rajas of Vijayanagar. It was during the period of the Pallavas some where between 6th and 7th century that the magnificent temples were erected. The city is prominent in present times for the hand-woven silk fabrics and is regularly visited by tourists from all over India and abroad.

» Mahabalipuram
An integral Part of the golden triangle tourist destinations covering South India, Mahabalipuram is referred to as the City of temples. In the ancient days it was known as Mamallapuram and was given the term the Land of Bali. Situated at a distance of just 55 kms from Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, the famous tourist destination and pilgrimage center was once the capital of the mighty Pallava Dynasty. It possesses a major attraction in the form of a basilica meant to be the largest one by the side of a sea shore. Named as Arjuna’s penance the mandapams or the large halls are really eye catching .The architectures of the place gives ample proof of the artistry of the period between 5th and 8 th century.
