Munnar placed in the the Kannan Devan hills is a small hill station located to the eastern part of Kerala. The hill station is situated at an altitude of 1524m above sea level and lies 130 kms east of Kochi and borders the state of Tamil Nadu. Famous for the lush greenery surroundings, Munnar is extremely beautiful and is considered the heaven of peace and tranquility. The amalgamation of the three mountain streams namely the Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala makes it a wonderful hill resort of the country.

Munnar was the favourite tourist destination of the then British rulers in colonial India. Spread by an unending expanse of tea plantations with valleys and mountains, Munnar also possess exotic species of flora and fauna along with the rare Neelakurunji plant offering an exhilarating colour to the mountain region. Nearby lies the Eravikulam National Park which is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr seen freely moving on the grasslands or climbing the undulating hills.

» Pothamadu
Pothaamedu, situated 6 km from Munnar offers a flamboyant picture of the tea and coffee plantations along with cardamom. The hills with the mountains to its background offers a breathtaking scenery to the visitors ideal for trekking and a smooth stride along the mountains.

» Anaimudi Peak
Considered the highest peak in south India, the Anaimudi Peak rests at an elevation of over 2695 meters. The peak is a natural wonder as well a delight to the beauty lovers. Visitors get to view the lovely sight from the low lying slopes and feel that their dream has been fulfilled.

» Devikulam
Another idyllic hill station known for its velvety lawns hiding the exotic flora and fauna to its own. The gentle breeze on the high mountains gives an experience felt exclusively on the hills. Primarily known for the lush green tea plantations, the place of Chithirapuram is popular for the little cottaged, bungalows, old playgrounds and courts.

» Rajamala
A heritage site, it gives shelter to the rare Nilgiri tahr. The endangered mountain goat species are slowly and steadily on the verge of extinction and a few of them are only found in this locality. The species found exclusively in the Eravikulam-Rajamala region is reduced to a small herds and in present terms the population has gone down to 1317 from much more.

» Power House Waterfalls
The Power House Waterfalls lies 18 kms away on the way to Thekaddi. The silvery cascade of waterfall flows down the steepy rocks below from a height of 2000 m height. The scenic location is covered with the western mountain ranges and an ideal spot to break free from the daily life works.

Good quality of Tea, Coffee, Cardamon can be obtained from the lush green estates located and covering a major portion of the hill. There can be found few items of handicraft materials peculiar to the region.
